Sioux Falls Green Project's Trash Talkers

Join the Team

We're looking for volunteers who want to green up Sioux Falls' festivals this Summer.

Trash Talkers help local festivals keep it clean and recycle like crazy. We also cheer on festival fans as they pitch in to lighten their environmental footprint.

And, there's only one way to get that cool Trash Talker tshirt.
Trash Talkers sign up in 2.5 hour shifts.  The schedule for summer events and volunteer shifts are posted at the link below.

We're looking for anyone 15 and over who can lift 15 pounds and doesn't mind getting dirty for a great cause. Together we make Sioux Falls clean and green.

The stats are in!

A huge thanks to all Trash Talkers who helped out at Hot Summer Nites and/or JazzFest this past week!  The amount of garbage and recycling has been assessed and we recycled 44% of the total waste at Hot Summer Nites and 39% at JazzFest!!  This amount of recycling broke the JazzFest recycling record.  Go Trash Talkers!!

(recycling rates were assessed using the following formula: (weight recycled [tons]/total weight [tons]) x 100)

Trash Talkers get ready.  We are excited to work with our friends at the Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues Society at this year's JazzFest, a FREE jazz and blues festival that attracts an eclectic crowd of over 90,000.

A major recycling effort at this festival has been taking place for several years, and this year it begins with you!  Everyone who helps out receives the exclusive volunteer t-shirt, refreshments, and the chance to win green prizes.  If you have a group interested in volunteering with us, call Karin  at 605.610.4240 or email karin@sioufallsgreenproject.org.
